New GL Ledger (Segmental Reporting, Business Area)

Hi FI Champs,

In New GL ledger how does Segmental Reporting work with Business Area ?

Lets say We have 40 Plants and 10 Divisions i.e., 400 Business Areas. How Segmental Reporting will work in this case ?

Kindly revert with suggestions.

Hi,

You can plan 10 divisions as 10 business areas and 40 plants as 40 profit centers. With the above, you can have plant wise data as well as division wise data. You can select the business area/profit center for drill down reports available in New GL.

Hi,

If all the 40 plants have those 10 divisions no need to create 400 business areas but it is enough if you create only 10 Business areas because the business areas are across the Co. codes. This means that a business area can be used by many Co. codes. While posting the FI documents, the correct business area needs to be selected.

Now, you have all the financial information based on the business area and you get segment based financial statements can be derived.
