Multiple Royalty Recipients in Condition Contract in S4 Public Cloud

A company has a royalty agreement with three co-authors for a book title. These authors have different percentages in the royalty sharing. How best do we manage this in the Condition Contract? If we create three suppliers, then how do you put the condition rates in the condition contract? A condition contract in the public cloud can accept only one Royalty Recipient.

Please advise!

Thank you for your question, @EvanN.

Indeed, the way I look at it you may have about 2 options, each of which might require further investigation of extension capabilities of S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition:

  • Use a separate Condition Contract for each of the co-authors. Relative condition rates may have to be determined via extensions. As you explore extensions, The SAP Business Partner is modeled to allow for relations among multiple business partner instances. Also, note this sentence in the SAP Help (emphasis by me): "The basis for the settlement is sales invoices that are related to the royalties recipient. You can use the RR (Royalties Recipient) partner function or custom defined partner functions to relate sales orders to a royalties recipient."
  • Find ways to extend Condition Contracts in their own right to suit the business requirements.

For deciding on the ultimate implementation variant, please consider not only the initial cost of developing, but also the running cost of maintaining the extension, which adds to the customer's total cost of ownership.
