Hi everybody,
Why do we go for Multiple/alternative hierarchies in profit center or cost center??
can some one explain?

When there are reasons to report on different ways you can use it. Perhaps making a version by fiscal year. Some times you use alternative hierarchies for creating your planning or your settlement/distribution rules are based on these
