Hi,

I have a question. SD department creates a sales order for FG1 with strategy group 81. There is currently existing stock in the warehouse. Why is the system still creating a planned order? Is this normal behavior, even if there is sufficient stock?

Hello

Strategy group 81/82/83 dont take current stock into accout, it is standard behiov.

if you want to take stock into accout, you should adopt MTS strategy to fullfil you request

Is it possible, when SD creates a delivery for the sales order, to get the stock from the current stock and not depend on the planned order created?

Or is it possible in configuration, during availability check, for the system to check/consider also the current warehouse stock ?

Dear ,

MTO -Planning Strategy -81 does not consider the available stock .Rather it genertes planned order based on customer requirement only .If you have already stock , then keep item categoery TAN in Sales Order , carry out ATP check , PGI .

Check in In TCode: OVZG for req. class : 200 wether you have maintained the indicator Avail. components

Or else you can keep it as MTS item and proceed .

HI thank you for your answers. Is there an existing planning strategy that combines MTO and MTS? Like for example, a planned order can be generated from a sales order, while I also can create manually a planned order at any point in time? I also want to deliver the sales order without depending on any planned order/ i want to deliver against the stock and not the generated planned order?

1.Strategy 81 is for the Assembly order with ( REM) Planned order.

2. So whenever you create the Sales order it will Generate the Planned order with respective to the sale order

3. here it is like a MTO scenario so for such case to a PGI( post goods issue after delviery) it would expect the stock against that sales order

4. In your case if you want to handle the MTO / MTS better you can go with STRATEGY 40

5.. This strategy allways smoothens the customer demands.

6. In case if you have a sales order and if the Avaialbel stock is less than that then if you run MD02 it will generate a planed order.

Hope this throws little more light on your issue

Dear ,

In your case , you can go ahead with Planning Strategy -40 Startegy where finished products are produced against pir (forecast) and when we receive the s/o, s/o will consume the pir. example: finished products are manufactured without s/o and when we recieve the s/o they wil be shipped to customer .

It is one kind of make to stock. Without sales order, with PIR you can initiate the production process. When sale comes, you can issue the material from stock. System will consider the stock when sale order comes.

Hope this will be useful for your requirement
