Hi,
I am new in PP.
Question:
1 - May I know in relation to the use of Planning Time Fence, how do we put in the MRP type P3 in following Planning Profiles:
Make to forecast
Make to stock
2 - where in SPRO you configure the planning profile?
thanks
Tuff
Dear
1)MRP Prof'ile : All the MRP 1,2,3,4 views in the material master data are entered in this profile and create MRP profile.
2) MADE TO STOCK: Depends on the forecast model they will plan material and keep the finished product in STOCK
You can create the MRP Group so that material can be tracked.
3)MRP groups are used when the plant division for planning is not enough for the division of the different materials MRP requirements. You assign different groups according to the requirements to run MRP (different Settings). These settings will be taken in account when you run MRP for single item or total planning
if You want to create a profile MRP profile, do that in MMD1.
MRP types : In the MRP types different categories are there
1) Produce to Demand
2) Consumption based planning
3) Forecast based planning
It is procedure that you set in the system on how the Material is planned
- Reorder Point
- Seasonal requirement
- Replenishment
- Vendor Managed
- Forecast Based
- Master production Scheduling

If you'e referring to MRP profile, do that in MMD1.

Are you referring to planning profiles in SAP SCM (If yes, then do a search in SCM forums to get more info) ? In PP component, haven't come across something called as planning profile in the context which you highlight.
