Hi Gurus,

I would like to ask if the planned delivery date has something to do with the creation of PR from MRP Run?

Thank you.

Hi,

MRP process mainly depends on MRP types used in material master. With MRP type, the other parameters are MRP Group,MRP parameter,Scope of Planning,Strategy Group involved.

For example:
For MRP type PD considering reservation into account and MRP PR can be created as stock reduced for material where safty stock play vital role with reorder point.

For MRP Type VB,the system will calculate the net requirement of stock available at plant including any Safety Stock and outstanding Purchase Orders. If the sum of all these stock available is/are less than the reorder point, there is a material shortage and so MRP run create a purchase requisition according to the lot sizing procedure defined on the material master also considering minimum and maximum stock levlel mentioned in the material master.

For more refer links on details of MRP process:

the stock of the material fell below the safety stock. MRP created a PR however, another PR was created again. Is this a SAP error? Can we also limit this? That whenever a PR is already created, during MRP run, no PR will be created again.

Thank you

Nope MRP does not create  PR again for same shortfall , it can adjust automatically  created PR in case it seems that it is not possible to fulfill previous proposal. I  should be case of additional requirement.

can you share more details , including MRP data of material and preferably screenshot of MD04 for the material.

Hi Avanish, when you say "it seems that it is not possible to fulfill previous proposal" does it means that it pertains to the quantity indicated in the previous PR? but it doesn't have to do with the planned delivery date?

Thank you.

yes i am talking about planned delivery date. Generally we do not work with capacities at PR level so quantity of procurement will not be constraint to determine at MRP level that particular PR can be fulfilled or not.

if previous proposal i.e PR has not been worked upon ( not firmed or processed for PO) and say planned delivery date of that PR is now in past  ,  in next MRP run system will system will delete previous PR and schedule a new PR proposal.
