Hi,

What does the concept of Missing parts with respect to Inventory management.

What is the funtionality lying behind this and how it has to be carried out.

When we release a production or process order, there are different process which occur in background such as Material Availability Check, Capacity Availability Check, PreCosting..........

During material avaialbility check it will check for the availability of all the component materials.

If any one of the component materials are not available in stock, the system reports this as missing parts with a Status MSPT attached to the Order.

We can find this using the Display Production/ Process order --> Go to --> Material Shortfall --> Material Shortfall Overview or Material Shortfall List.

We can even find out the list of the materials shortfall or missing parts list using the Tcode - CO24.

If, during an availability check ( Overall Check), the system determines that a component is not available on a date on which it is required, the production order is automatically given the status "PRT shortage" (MSPR). This status remains active in the order header until a subsequent availability check (overall check) determines that all components have become available (for example, due to a goods receipt).
