Gurus,
I simply created a variant using MDBT and scheduled it for daily MRP run. But it did not run any MRP at the time I had set.
Am I missing something. Is something more needs to be done than just MDBT.

I did the same thing and then checked MD04 the time I had set for. But nothing happened.

Is planning file entry is exist?
once you schedule the variant then hit the button show scheduling. Here if you see the schedule then it will work otherwise it will not work so the bottom thing is the moment you schedule it should show at show schedulling.
