Hi SAP expert ,

Business scenario: The customer's main business is selling building materials and accessories, and its ultimate customer is villa owners. In a sales order, it is necessary to record the detailed list of building materials and accessories for each villa in the sales order. A villa has approximately 3000 building materials and accessories, and there will be a demand for 10 villas in one sales order. Therefore, one sales order will have 30000 lines of project details.

I tried to use the Sales and Distribution Bom feature, the header of the bom is each villa . the items of the bom is the detailed list of building materials and accessories , but I found that the sales orders still display the detailed materials of the BOM, so that the number of line items of each sales order will be greater than 20000 .

I need to confirm the maximum number of line items for a sales order in the system, and how many detailed line items can the system support for a single sales order ?

Hi,

To directly address your question, the maximum number of items in a single sales order primarily depends on the digit limitations of the line item number. If the "Item Number Increment" is set to 1, the system can accommodate up to 999,999 items.

However, if you are not utilizing partial delivery or partial billing features, you should also consider the constraints of the Finance module. Specifically, the Finance documents has a primary limit of 999 items of sales billing related, as detailed in SAP Note 2978405.

Hi @omega-ou ,

Correct one info: If the "Item Number Increment" is set to 1, the system can accommodate up to 999,999 items. It is because the digit of item number is 6.
