how to create material and material type which allows in-house production?

can anyone complete steps for this?

use t.code MM01,

1. select the material type and industry sector and hit enter.

2. Select the views you want to maintain for that material and hit enter.

3. Enter the organizational level for the material like plant, storage location, sales organization, distribution channel etc.,

4. In the mrp 2 view, maintain the procurement key as E which is for in-house production.

Hi dear,

Proceed as below.

1) No need to create new material type you can use the standard material types (HALB or FERT) defined in SAP but still if u want to create new material type go to OMS2.

2) Select that material type and then press F6 now you can rename the new created material type if required.

3) Now in the same screen go to internal/external purchase orderes and for internal purchase order maintain 2 (internal purchase order allowed) the internal purchase order here refers to inhoue production order for the material.

4) By this setting next time when ever you create material of that material type you will be allowed to create the productioin order for that material.
