Material availability check during production order release

Hello Experts,

Can we exclude some storage location stock when system carries out material availability check at the time of production order release and restrict the production order release when sufficient stock is not available?

I know we can exclude storage location stock with the help of MRP area and its very good functionality that SAP has given but is it also work for material availability check during production order release?

Kindly suggest.

Check OPJJ where system allows you to consider the stock across locations.

Tick marks under Stocks area.

Also explore user exit : USEREXIT_SOURCE_DETERMINATION[this is used for sale order - explore for Prod order] if not getting in below.

Assuming that you are using COMAC to check collective orders.

HI Kunal, in addition. You can restrict the release of the production orders if material is not enough based on the availability check. Check this path in customizing. Production > Shop Floor Control > Operations > Availability Check > Define checking control. Select business function 2. In the material availability section, you will see the release material. You have three options, user decides, release even if there are missing parts and no release if there are missing parts. But make sure that "No Check" is not checked.
