In MM there are two master data. One is material master and second is Vendor master.

Material master is stored at client level, plant or at storage location level

Vendor master is stored at general, Company code and Pur org level.

Other are callsed master recrds.

Hi friend...

No matter in which module you are into... Master data can be defined as a repository through which the data is pulled into various documents. Examples could be Material masterdata, Customer master data, Vendor master data....

Data will be pulled from this masters to the documetns whenever necessary...

Thanks,

Hi,

The data used as master records for creating documents

It includes :

1) Material master

2) Vendor master

3) Information records

4) Source list

5) Quota arrangements sometimes

where you maintain some data which you use continuously being used for creating your documents which are transaction based.

These have different views which updates inventory, pricing and other details.
