Mandatory Input in Formatted Search Query Field

I have created formatted search query. Which has only one field "Serial Number"?  I have to ensure that, the user has to enter the value in that field.  How to do that?

I was thinking on implement in stored procedure SBO_TransactionNotification with Object_Type = "219". But I am not sure, how to enforce the validation only for this search query.  Because there are 50+ formatted search queries are available in the system.

Please help

Hi,

Please post your FMS query.

In simple case, if no value entered in selection criteria, there is no result from query. Try this query,

SELECT * FROM OINS T0 WHERE  T0.[internalSN]  = [%0]

Thanks & Regards,

I am not using any UDF.  My sample query is below

SELECT * FROM OINS WHERE INTERNALSN LIKE '%[%0]%'

I need to ensure that the user has enter the value. If the user did not enter any value, the query is executing and displaying all the fields from OINS (which i do not want)/.

Hi Suresh,

If you use like I can imagine that you want the user to type part of the internalsn

so just add the following.

SELECT * FROM OINS WHERE INTERNALSN LIKE '%[%0]%'

and [%0] <> ''

I hope it helps,
