Maintaining purchase prices on a daily basis

Hi gurus,

we have certain materials with often changing purchase prices (e.g. on a daily basis). Now we would like to find a way to maintain those prices with minimal manual activity.

Up to now, there are no vendors who could send these prices via EDI.

We thought about an Excel import (i.e. the vendor sends us pricing lists by email), but we wondered if there could be a more elegant solution…

Any ideas?

Cheers

Alicia

Hi,

You can have a customised program to run every day (fix a time may be in morning hours probably) by an authorised person (may be a Buyer) where customised program can update the condition record MEK2 only for that particular vendor and material which the authorised person entered in the input file.

So when Purchase Order created based on date, price picks from condition record!

Regards,

Biju K

Ok, no vodoo magic here, as we expected. Thanks to both of you!

If the vendor sends the price through EDI and its automatically updating info record or condition record. its fine to have a custom upload program to update the price.

I am just thinking if the vendor sends the price in excel, you analyze and update in the system.. in the same time, user can create the PO picking the price from the excel sheet right... whats the advantage of entering the daily price in the system and its picked to PO rather than entering manually?

or you create the PO with estimate price and activate confirmation control, ask the vendor to send the acknowlegemend with the correct price. this is also can be updated automatically via EDI.
