Leave requests before/after weekend, when leaves based on calander days.

for our company, Saturday and Sunday are weekly offs. But leaves are counted based on calender days.

case 1.

if an employee applies leave from Thursday 21-Aug-2014 to Wednesday 27-Aug-2014, it will be counted as 7 days. (Thu+Fri+Sat+Sun+Mon+Tue+Wed).

case 2.

if the same employee create two separate leave requests:

from Thursday 21-Aug-2014 to Friday 22-Aug-2014, it will be counted as 2 days. (Thu+Fri).

and

from Monday 25-Aug-2014 to Wednesday 27-Aug-2014, it will be counted as 3 days. (Mon+Tue+Wed).

but in case 2, only 5 days are considered as leaves, how can we make sure that total 7 days are considered as absent in case 2, and 7 days have to be deducted.

is there any standard configuration item provided in SAP, to enable this, or is there any way to enforce it.

We checked the ESS Process Processes of Leave request option and Time configuration,

You need to use counting rule, do you have same behavior in Pa30 for It2001, then modify your counting rule? See the checkboxes for the days of the week Time Management (if it is an absence) then   > Time Data Recording and Administration     > Absences       > Absence Counting         > Rules for Absence Counting (New)           > Define Counting Rules              Here ie  T556C (counting rule) define a counting rule and assign to your absence

I have the same issue. However, ECC config is working as expected but in ESS when there is a weekend in between the casual leave it is also considering weekend to check the absence quota.

Please suggest
