Item Release VS Overall Release

I have 2 release strategies, overall release (release group 02) and item wise (release group 01), the overall for non-stock and item wise for stock items. Is it possible to have these 2 release strategies in the system, because the item wise already existed and I just configured the overall. The problem that I have with the overall is that it only picks up the first 2 strategies irrespective of the different cost centre. I checked the strategies, Cl20n, Cl30n, and everything looks OK. the characteristcs that I have is Accnt Assignment, Cost Centre & Amount. What else can I look at or do top make this work.

Please Maintain two doc type for Overall release and item releaase and add characteristc with doc type also and try.

You can have 2 strategies for the Preqs.. The overall should not have any item level dependencies or the values for all line items should be the same, else you receive a blank value in your comm. structure.. If you have varying values for the Line items in your Over all req. release, leave teh field blank when you configure the values in CL24N.. That could be the only reason I can think of now.

Can I enter a cost centre on header level for overall release for purchase requisition,and if so, how do I do it. Is it true that I cannot use cost centres for overall release.

Hi,

You can only have two release strategies for PR(with and w/o classification)

Both these procedures are mutually exclusive.

If you have more relese strategies in with classification,only one will be applicable and moreover you cant assign a header value in PR,as it doesn't have anything in header.

You can pass the Cost center, provided it is common for all line items.. else it would not be considered as a global or a overall prerequisite.

When you have a cost center maintained for overall release.. make sure it is common for all items and your strat should work
