What is Item Category with respect to BOM? Explain.

Dear Srinivasa Iyengar,

While creating the BOM for a material while assigning the component's or documents we have to specify

the item category properly.

The available Item categories in standard SAP system are

Stock Item - L

Non-Stock Item N

Variable Size Item - R

Document Item - D

Class Item, Text Item,PM Structure item.
