Issue with Component Group Determination - Sequenced JIT calls for Assemblies in S/4HANA cloud

Hi,

I'm having issues testing a scenario for Sequenced JIT calls for Assemblies in SAP S/4HANA cloud, as the default component group determination doesn't seem to work.

Master data:

  • Finished product: FG031
  • Semi-finished products: SG031, SG032
  • Scheduling agreement for both products w/ del. schedules: SG031, SG032
  • Active Customer Supply Control for: FG031

When creating the JIT call, header data is filled in and call components SG031 and SG032 is added with external component group: FG031. So far so good.

But when refreshing the component group it displays component group number: FG031 and component group material: SG031 (first call component).

The JIT call then goes into error as the "supply control cannot be determined for component group material: FG031, Customer Supply Area: 1" - even though this is the exact (and only) supply control that I have defined.

So I guess my questions are:

  1. Why does the system assign SG031 as the component group material? Shouldn't it determine FG031 since its referenced in each call component?
  2. If it is correct that the system assigns SG031, why does the error message state that it can't determine the supply control for FG031 when its the only supply control defined? Customer/Unloading point/Supply area is correct.

Obs. Sequenced JIT calls for discrete material w/ repetitive manufacturing works perfectly. It is just the scenario for assemblies where the BOM is unknown that we are experiencing issues with.

Any input is appreciated as the SAP support doesn't seem to be answering tickets within this area.

Hello patrik.hansson29.

How are you? It doesn´t make sense to have a call for JIT for the Manufactured Product in this case, that is FG031. The materials to be considered for JIT, as I know, should be SG031 and SG032.

Regards.
