Is it possible to create General Task List without inputting Planning Plant?

Hi,

We have a requirement where our client wants to create a General task list which should be common across all the 400 plants. In other words, they want to create only 1 general task list without inputting the planning plant field and if any modifications in future, they want to change it at one place instead of changing for 400 task list for each plant.

I see that the Planning plant field is mandatory in case of general task list and wanted to control via SPRO influencing "A" tasklist type. However, I see that is not possible.

Can you please let me know how can we make this planning plant field optional in case of general task list?

Hi,

I'm just not sure what you have achieved here. Rather than a blank plant can you just not specify any planning plant. You can still use that task list on a plan or order that has a different plant (Company code / Controlling area would need to be the same). When the task list is transferred to the order all the operations will transfer across with the work center / plant as defined in the task list (operations). Is that not the main problem?

The system expects a task list to have a header plant value. I cannot be sure where that would cause problems but potentially there could be some section of code that will not like it being empty.

Dear experts,

The only aim of my client is to modify all the Task list data at one place instead of changing it at 400 plants altogether and that is the reason they are insisting to have the task list as a common and not specific to any planning plant.

For the same reason, if we keep the SPRO setting as I mentioned above, wherein we grey-out or hide the Planning plant field while creating task list, will there be any implications/problems at later stage while creating the order, settling the order or confirming the order. If you could confirm me that it would be of great help.

Hi Paul,

I see an option in SPRO in the task list node to hide/display which is allowing me to create a task list without the Planning Plant wherein I have put the condition as "Influencing = A".

I have put this option in SPRO and tried to create the work order using this task list from the single cycle plan and I am able to create the work order successfully?

Can this be the solution we are looking for in creating the general task list which is a generic one and not specific to any "Planning Plant"??

can you please provide your inputs.

Thanks.

Hi,

The planning plant must be entered. There is not a option to avoid this.

Various older discussions on this behaviour - including this one.
