Internal Order Settlement - Default receiver for a Cost element

Dears

I am in a stand-still at the Internal Order Settlement.

A cost element group is used in the AllocStructure for external services.

Out of the cost elements posted, one cost element (Training Fees) should always be settled to a Cost Centre (100%).

Other Cost Elements should only be settled to Asset (100%).

I created the settlement rule with amount specification. But the settlement leaves a residual amount 0.01 still to be settled.

(We have separate currencies and hence exchange rates).

Even this amount specification confuses the user as every period they need to see which one is not yet settled and which are settled.

What is the best option in this case ?

I cannot change the cost element group in source structure.

Hi Niki

You need to use SOURCE STRUCTURE in Settlement Profile

In SOURCE STUCTURE, create 2 assignments - 10 and 20

In 10 - Assign Cost Ele Group that must be settled to CC

In 20 - Assign CE Group that must be settled to Asset

Now when you create Settlement Rule, you will see the SOURCE ASSIGNMENT there.. You will maintain 2 settlement rules now

a) With SOURCE ASSIGNMENT 10 - Settlement Receiver CC

b) With SA 20 - Settlement Receiver Asset

Thanks Ajay.

Also I feel that the cost element groups used in SStr and AllocStr need not be the same.

Only the cost elements assigned to it matters.Right ?

Yes Niki.. You are right...

But if you use same CE Groups, it eases your life

My point was, we have many cost element groups (30) in the Allocation Structure.

Hence as you suggested, I will maintain 30 assignments in Source Structure also.

After that, in the allocation structure, I will maintain the settlement receiver as Cost Centre for the Training fees Assignment and for all other I will maintain 'Asset' as receiver.

But I have one issue Ajay.

If I maintain all the 33 assignments in Source Structure, each time when the settlement rule is created, we need to give all the 32 assignments  for Assets separately (excluding the Cost Centre assignment). That will be laborious. right ? There is no from-to source assignment in the settlement rule.

Just create two assignments. One for cost elements to be assigned to CC and the other to br assigned to assets
