Hi Gurus,

During this transaction we are getting information message like objects are assigned to another ibase...and have a two options to click YES or NO to continue the process. If users click YES..it will delete the existing ibase which is not a best practice.Any SPRO settings or User exits to disable the YES option ?so that users cannot click yes.

please advice

regards,

vijay

hi

it is the standard i think so ,since the equipments or FL or material with serial numbers may only exist in one installed base at any one time

Kindly refer the following [link|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/df/385b16d5d111d19dde0000e8323350/content.htm]

hi thiyagarajan,

Could you please explain me what is installed base and how it is used in the Plant maintenance. I worked in 3 projects where we never had this functionality and even we are not authorised for the IB51/52/53. Can you throw some light which will be very useful in knowing and implementing this in my current project. I really appreciate your help. Thanks is advance.

Cheers,

Praveen.

hi

Normally Installed base will be used for represent and manage products in Customer site and products used internally,

You can assign pieces of equipment, materials, serial numbers, and documents that belong together as installed base components (components) of a common installed base.

you can refer [here|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/3c/abae15413911d1893d0000e8323c4f/frameset.htm] details

Praveen,

One major disadvantage is that Installed Base cannot be used in orders (nor notifications I think..)
