We want to implement ESS and MSS.

We want to install Netweaver 7.31 as java stack.

Can we extract data from ECC 6.0, which is having Netweaver 7.0? Will there any issue to make rfc connection or to make communication between Netweaver 7.0 ( ECC ABAP system)  and Netweaver 7.31 JAVA system ?

Will there any issue to make rfc connection or to make communication between Netweaver 7.0 ( ECC ABAP system)  and Netweaver 7.31 JAVA system ? If we install java stack on different or same host with different or same SID.

Hi Ashu,

Dual Stack split is needed for EHP 7 Implementation Or Upgrade .Since you are in ECC 6.0 EHP X .You can install Java system with same SID and You perform JCO Connection for connection between Java and Abap System

I suggest you to download and read the installation guide. It clearly says that the SAP System ID - SID should be unique throughout your organisation and not to use an existing SID when installing a new system. You should be able to install the Java stack on the same host with a different SID as long as you have enough system resources.
