Inspection Type deactivate

Dear All,

There was a non QM activated material and stock GRN to Inspection Stock. After that i activated 01 inspection type for that material by using QA08 transaction. Then in that QA08 transaction it showed material was processed and new inspection lot created. For a testing purposes i went to the QA08 transaction and tried to deactivate the 01 inspection type then it says material cannot be processed.

1. How do i deactivate inspection type 01 from a material?

2. What if the plant that i'm working decided to stop using QM, but since they have already activated Inspection Type, inspection lots will get created at the time of GRN. In a situation like that how to avoid it?

Hi,

You have to reverse all GRN of material code for which you have deactivate quality.

Because once your stock is in QM system will not allowe you to deactivate QM set up.

So firsr Go reverse of all GRN of perticular material.

Once it get revesed you can deactivate it.

Then again do GRN then your stock will get posted to unrestricted.

Please look at my comments against the points you raised:

" Please clear the material using MB1B. 321 movement type"

After that i activated 01 inspection type for that material by using QA08 transaction. Then in that QA08 transaction it showed material was processed and new inspection lot created.

*QA08 is for mass change for Insp setup, i doubt whether it can create Insp lot"

For any material first clear all stocks available in QI, then deactivate all inspection types from insp setup and then also deactivate procurement key / certificate if activated. You can do all this in MM02 QM view. If you do this no lots will be generated further.

Hi,

First move all the stock from quality to unrestricted and then deactivate the inspetion.If stock of the mtrl is in quality, it will not allow to deactivate the QM.
