Increase decimal point level in UOM

Wheather we can increase decimal level on base unit of measure from 3 to 4 if it possible then how ?if not -why not ?

eg.UOM MM - 0.002

Change to MM - 0.0020

Hi,

"MM is a SI Unit of Measurement and this UoM can not be modified and is system controlled".

Few e.g. of such UoMs are G, LG, L, M, CM, etc...

If there is business requirment UOM decimal has to increase what we can do ?

hi,

There is no need of it...You shd maintain the unit in such a way that it suits the requirement...ie.If you use currencies that require higher values, we recommend that you use smaller UoMs (for example, "case" instead of "pallet")...

You can store formulas for the conversion to SI units in Customizing:

To do this, go to "General Settings -> Check units of measurement" (transaction CUNI).

Thanks,I want increase decimal level for Carat which is already small UOM.what Can I do in this case ?

Hi ,

Generally we change the decimal place through

IMG > SAP NetWeaver>General Settings>Check Units of Measurement> Unit of measurement.

But Milimeter is an ISO unit( International system of units) . As it is an international standard , I don't think it will allow you to change the decimal place . What you can do is , create a new unit of measure and assign the decimal place .
