Dear people,
My customer is going to implement a drive thru rack in the warehouse, where the bins have acces from a front aisle and a rear aisle indistinctly. Where in each bin should be one or two materials or one material with two batches. I thought to use fixed bins with putaway strategy B and picking strategy F. But I can not realize how to specify the capability to reach each bin from a rear or a front aisle for the putaway or picking operations. I will really appreciate if somebody had this situation before and how was achived.
Regards.
where is your actual problem? If bin A1 can be accessed from 2 sides then it is still bin A1 from both sides. So you can in general treat a drive through rack like any other bin.

Suppose that I have bin A1 with capacity of seven pallets. It can be accessed from aisle 1 from front side and aisle 2 from rear. Then, we have two pallets of material 1 and five pallets of material 2. Pallets of Material 1 can be better accessed from aisle 1, and material 2 can be better accessed from aisle 2. For the sistem we have only one bin A1, but in fact it can be accesed from two aisles. 1) If I need to pick one pallet of material 1: How I can define that the warehouse operator go to pick the pallet from aisle 1 and not from aisle 2? 2) If I have other bin A2 with five pallets of material 2 and two spaces empties. And I have these two spaces better accessed from aisle 1. How I can define that the operator go to put away de pallets from aisle 1 and not from aisle 2 where we have already the pallets of material 2.
