How to obtain Valuation Type from Stock in Transit?

Dear all,

We are facing an issue because we are not able to obtain the correct valuation type for stock that is in transit.

Could anyone add some thoughts about how to navigate between tables in order to know which is the valuation type of any material that is in transit?

Thanks a lot

Hello @piniguez

As per note 392205 - Analysis of stock in transit/correction for split valuation

Due to historic reasons, the data model of R/3 is incomplete concerning material with split valuation in the stock in transit (the stock in transit is managed independent of valuation types but already belongs to the valuated stock which is managed with the exact valuation type).

So it might be hard to get valuation type of stock in transit directly from database tables.

Hello @piniguez

Stock in transit is managed in MSTB table. Valuation type is in the BWTAR field.

Hello @DominikTylczyn. Unfortunately, that table is empty in our system. Do you know of any alternative? Thanks again

Hello @piniguez

Check if you can see your stock in transit in MARC-UMLMC, where MARC-WERKS is the receiving plant. If so, then the valuation type can be read from MBEW.

Hello @DominikTylczyn. Stock in transit appears in MARC, but in column TRAME. In MBEW table I don't see the units in transit. Thanks again!

Hello @piniguez

As you have identified stock in transit in MARC, then you can read corresponding valuation type from MBEW-BWTAR. MARC and MBEW can be joined through T001W:

  • T001W-WERKS = MARC-WERKS
  • MBEW-BWKEY = T001W-BWKEY

Hello @DominikTylczyn. That solution would be good in case of having only one valuation per material. But we have several. Thanks anyway for your help
