How to have SAP pull the current user as of the document owner

Dear All,

We are using SAP88 PL21 US localization. When they create marketing document, they want to default the doc owner to the current user. Is there anyway we can setup in SAP? If we have to create UDV, where can I pull the current user code? Thanks.

Hi,

In Human Resource module, you should add staff profile which linked to user code, the system will fill this user into Owner field automatically when the user create a new document.

Thanks for all the replies. Our client doesn't want to use data ownership. He just wants to sometimes track who create the document by using doc owner field. Any idea?

You may setup user default for those users under user profile.

Thanks for the reply Gordon. Where should I setup for Doc Owner? I can setup default sales employee but I cannot find anywhere to setup default Doc Owner?

You need to set up the employees and link them to the user codes. They will then default to the owner as the user.

As Julie pointed out, document owner must be set up as employee and link to user code. Then you can set user default.
