How to feed custom table data to PU12 interface

Hi All,

Please check the following requirement and provide your input.

Requirement:

Requirement is to send the data to third party payroll processor.

Not all data the required data resides in SAP.

If it is not in SAP and the decision has not been made to store it in SAP, a decision needs to be made as to how this data will be fed to Payroll processor:

o   Will it be a separate interface sent to Payroll Processor?  (Preferred method if Payroll processor agrees)

o   If not, can we somehow interface the data into a custom table of SAP just before the interface?

My analysis:

Since some data is outside SAP, we can load that data into SAP custom DB tables and can try to align with PU12 interface.

I have checked the interface of PU12. There are only 2 options to supply the data. i.e. Master data, Payroll/Time data.

  • Master data comes from PA* infotypes (including custom infotypes).
  • Payroll/Time data comes from Clusters.

Query:

If we have to proceed with loading custom data into SAP, how can we map the same with PU12 interface.

I am not sure if there is any further option to fed PU12 interface with custom data, apart form Master data and Payroll/Time data.

I have found some basic info on PU12:

Hello Somasekhar,

It seems that you would want to exchange the custom infotypes through the interface. The PU12 interface must allow the P structure for custom infotypes to be considered for exchange. It should be applicable for other Custom Infotypes that are based on HR framework.

Hi Amit,

Thanks for the response.

Agree that PU12 would allow to choose the data from custom infotypes i.e.PA9* also, but in our case we would be loading the legacy data to custom DB tables not custom infotypes.

Mapping custom DB table data to PU12 is the challenge for us.
