How to disconnect Equipment and its measuring point in SAP?

Hi SAP GURU，

Measuring point is created with reference to Equipment.

For this link, is there a way to break it that we can replace the equipment with a dummy one?

In case the counter is wrong or duplicated, in equipment master, only the correct counter can be displayed.

Can you give more details on the business process that requires the MP to be moved?

Hi Pete,

There are duplicated counters for the same equipment.

I just found the way to disconnect equipment and its counter.

Prerequisite:

No measurement doc created or old docs had been reversed and archived via SARA.

1. Inactivate the counter-IK02

2. Select the counter and delete entry-IE02-counter button-delete entries under Edit

3. Save

Then the connection is broken in IK07,IE02 and IK03 (saying it does not exist.)

It doesn't look like you can move a counter from one equipment to another. I've always deleted and re-created..

Maybe open a message to SAP to see what they recommend.

None of it deals with my question on how to break the link between counter and equipment.

I don't think if it is possible. But I wonder if we can replace a dummy equipment so on equipment master, we only see the right counter.
