How to create Printer Device in SPAD

can any one please tell me step-by-step process to create new printer device and configure it in ECC5.0

Hi Faisal,

Use t-code spad, click on output device, click on change (F8), click on create (Shift +1).

In deviceattributes

output device = put name of the printer

short name = put any short name

devicd type = select printer type like epsio,hp etc.

spool server = select spool server name

device class = select class othewise standard

In Accessmethod

host spool access method = S: Print using sap protocol

host printer = printer name which is given by you

destinatio host = ip address of the printer

connection option

connection time = 0

port number = 515 may be differ as per printer

response time = 0

Output attributes

host spool cover page = do not print host spooler cover page

in below of process request sequencely

press copy counter to host spool system

print mode = default printer default setting

printer tray = default tray

These are the setting to configure new printer in sap.

Hi anil,

We have Printer samsung&clp500, which is not there in the Device Type list. I think i have to create a new printer and then configure. Right?

Plz help me in configuring this network printer in SAP

Hi Fiscal,

If samsung printer is not available in the list you can use

SAPWIN : Rel.4x/SAPlpd 4/09+ ONLY! or you can try hp 5000 may be that printer can work but i have not tried as yet.

Hi friend

I have the same problem like faisal .

we have one samsung clp500 color printer and we have to configure it on ecc5 where there is no option of samsung in the list.

But i used sapwin and configured it .

The problem is when I am trying to give any print from spro (any document) it is throwing an error failed to connect to SAPLPD.

and one more information is given in system logs that "the connection to the specified computer was interrupted in the current operation. this can be due to network error or partner process was closed"

Can u help me in this .
