Hi Experts,

I have a scenario in which i have no idea, how can i Proceed, please Guide me in the below.

Plant 1: Material X (Raw material)

Plant 2: Material X (SFG).

But I need to use the Material in Both the plants, and the same also can be procured from external party as well. (I am not sure how this could be achieved in SAP).

In my production i would require Material X , which is procured so far from external parties, where as now we are Rolling out another plant for the same Raw material, and now for the time being i would require to procure and produce the same material and store in the Same Location(together). Now I need to capture both the Price(Procured & Produced) in plant 1. and what will be the impact in my costing.

Please do help..

Thanks & Regards

If I understood you right, there's no problem. You have a material (X), which in one plant is purchased externally, whereas in another plant it is manufactured.

If really this is the case then you should define it material type HALB (SFG).

In the plant where it is purchased externally, define price control moving average (normal logic).

In the plant where it is manufactured define price control standard, define BOM and routing, and cost it (material cost estimate).

If the case is that you produce and purchase material X in the same plant, then define procurement type "X", price control S, and cost it as if it were produced internally. Then you can either produce it or purchase it, and of course since it is the same material, you can store from both sources in the same storage location.
