How to build a cross country dotted line reporting relationship

Former Member

A simple requirement for my client to have dual chain of command by introducing a local manager for global employees alongside reporting to their line manager in home country.

> Can dotted line relationship serve the purpose?

> Is matrix setup required for this?

> What can be dimensions for this home and host country manager relationships?

Hi

In my Previous Client we created Custom Relationship A/B 912

Position -> Position Relationship (S-S) were created for Dotted Line Manager.

Thanks

Yeah creating dotted line between positions, removing time constraint for multiple manager relationships and matrix setup are the options I have.

I want to know the safest bet for global employees. I don't need to handle dual chain in same country.

Any comments now?

Hi

We have Global Employment turned on

and client wanted to dotted line for reporting so we went with custom relationship.

we thought Matrix Organization will make things complicated for us

Thanks

Thanks for that clue...

But, In our pre analysis we already opted out of activating Management of Global Employee module, now my big questions being on ECC5 are:

> Can I go for a simple dotted line relationship without matrix if so can't I make use of std relationships like 088/005 etc?

> Can a dotted line relationship caters to dual chain of command in different countries?

> Any complications or conflicts in querying data/reports from these managers?
