Dear Expert,
We are using Scope Item (2RU) for Production Order Processing with third party. We would like to maintain some initial stock in Storage Location (301I) and (301J). By using App [Manage Stock] and [Transfer Stock in Plant], we found that even when we transferred the stock, the system couldn't recognize it and the "inbound delivery" was posted.
Could you advise how we can correctly maintain the stock in 301I and 301J storage location?
Thank you for your support and advice in advance.
Best Regards,
Michelle

Hi Michelle,
when creating initial stock in a WMS managed storage location or when transferring stock from an IM storage location to a WMS managed storage location, the stock in the receiving storage location will not be posted immediately.
Such stock movements will always create an inbound delivery, which in the WMS need to be posted/confirmed. Your decentralized third-party warehouse management system runs all processes required for the physical and logical goods movements.
Only after the posting in the WMS, the WMS confirms this posting back to your S/4HANA Cloud system, which will in return create the respective material document and update the stock in the storage location. This will make sure that your stock levels in your S/4HANA Cloud system and WMS are being kept in sync.
You will also find this information in the process flows of scope item 1ZQ in the Process Navigator.
Here is an example:

Hi @MariusSiegel ,
Thank you for your reply.
Do you mean we also need another WMS system to test this scope item?
Best Regards,
Michi
Hi @michi_lin,
where do you want to manage your stock? Do you want to manage it in S/HANA Cloud directly? Then you could manage the stock on a storage location level or on a storage bin level (when using Cloud Warehouse Management).
In case you manage the stock in a 3PL WMS system then you would manage the stock on a storage location level in S/4HANA Cloud but additionally on a more detailed level in your 3PL WMS. And of course you need to have an interface in place between your S/4HANA Cloud system and the 3PL WMS system.
The 3PL WMS in that case is the leading system.
best regards,
Marius
Hi @MariusSiegel ,
Yes, we would like to manage stocks in S/HANA Cloud directly. We have tried it with App [Manage Stock], [Post Goods Movement] and [Transfer Stock in Plant] but the stocks in WMS Storage Location (e.g. 301I and 301J) were still zero quantity. Could you advise how to increase stocks in those storage locations?
Thank you for your support.
Best Regards,
Michelle
Hi @michi_lin,
In case you would like to use Cloud Warehouse Management instead of a Third-Party WMS then there are different scope items to be used (e.g. 5HN, 3BR, 3BS, 3DV, 6NI).
When using Cloud Warehouse Management in S/4HANA Cloud standard, the storage location *W is to be used. If you are new to Warehouse Management in S/4HANA Public Cloud, I would recommend to make yourself familiar with this solution first via SAP Help.
best regards,
Marius
