How do we confirm a staffing on a work package?

How do we confirm a staffing on a work package? I have assigned staff to a role but the 'Staffed Resource' column says not staffed. Where can I confirm this staffing?

Hello Santosh. Please specify if you have implemented the Basic Resource Management with J11 Best Practices. https://rapid.sap.com/bp/#/browse/scopeitems/J11

1. J11 (Customer Project Management - Project-Based Services) will cover the core functionality for Customer Projects, Maintaining Customer Projects, Work Packages and Time-Based Planning, Work Package Staffing, Customer Project Billing.

3. After the Staffed Resource Column need to be populated . If the integration with SuccessFactors Employee Central (SF EC) is in place, resource data such as work schedule, holiday calendar, and time profile is created in SF EC during the hiring process. If the integration with SF EC has not been set up, then you can use the API Manage Workforce Availability (API_MANAGE_WF_AVAILABILITY) to maintain resource data. 5. You can use the app for existing workforce person: Manage Workforce (ondemand.com) to update the supervisor / manager information. You will need to be the manager of resource, inorder for you to manage the project resource time sheet that you to staff to the project. Alternatively to #4 you can use Fiori app Import Employee to create employee, then in EmploymentDataTemplate you can update existing personal details, employment,availability (WorkingTimePercentage WeeklyWorkingHours WeeklyWorkDays) and service cost level data of an employee.

To staff a resource request, assign one or more resources to the request. Staff Resource Requests app shows resources that are a good match for the requirements specified in the request.

Once you find the resource who you want to assign. To assign the resource, use one of the following options Assign (specify when the assignment starts and ends and for how many hours the resource is assigned to the request.) or Quick Assign (creates the assignment as requested, that is, using the requested start and end date, effort distribution method, and number of required hours specified in the resource request.)

OR

Propose Option You can also propose resources for assignment, for example, if the requester needs to check and accept the proposed resource before it can be assigned to a resource request. Proposed assignments are not taken into account when calculating the resource's availability or utilization or the overall staffing status of the resource request.

In the Manage Resource Requests app, a requester can accept or reject a proposed assignment. Later on, you can use the Staff Resource Requests app to turn accepted assignments into soft-booked or hard-booked assignments.

Hi Tulsi, thanks a lot for the comprehensive answer.

Yes I am referring to scope item J11 but I do not have EC integration to SF. I am using an existing employee in the system for which manager and holiday calendar are maintained (which I can see from availability). I created a project, in the work packages, I assigned a resource and now it shows up as 'requested resource'. But there is no way/app to confirm this staffing request. The app 'Manage Project Staffing' just shows up staffing details. I do not find the app 'Staff Resource Requests' either in the system or in the apps library.

Am I missing something?
