Dear Team,
Do we have any proposals for Holiday pay calculation based on past 52 weeks. This would be a statutory change in Payroll UK with effective from April 2020.
Thanks
Surya
Hi Surya,
To propose something you'd need to have a business requirement and a snapshot of your current configuration.
Clients have various expectations regarding holiday pay.
For example, even for the currently active 12-week rule for UK - some clients prefer to take into average 12 weeks before the holiday starts, some companies calculate 12 weeks as 3 payroll months and freeze the rate for the current month, also there are different points of views on the income to be included into the average base, and so on and so forth.
Then, particular switching cases should be considered like holidays intersecting the 1st of April 2020.
Unless the declaration has not been worked out completely and no insight on your current solution, it's kind of pointless to come up with the proposal.
One can be satisfied with copying the average calculation rule and the relevance rule and changing 12 to 52, and assigning it to the wagetype.
Another one does not use AVERA at all...
Kind regards,
Alex
