Head office trnascation

Hi

How we can treat Head office in sap either as plant or business area, why most of the plant transaction will be done at head office only. Please give any suggestion, that will be better for me.

Thanks in advance,

Regards,

Sudharshan.

Dear Sudarshan,

As far as Head Quarters is concerned it is above Business Area level and it can be termed as Company Code level. When the question of transaction comes it(Head Quarters) is like other business areas and transactions taken place in Head Quarters will get posted and at the time of consolidation at Head Quarters level, transactions posted in all Business Areas including its as Business Area will get consolidated. It is always advisable to assign a separate Business Area Number to Head Quarters also for posting transactions.

Dear Sudarshan,

As far as my knowledge goes Plant is part parcel of Business Area since it will not have separate set of Accounts. Any transactions taken place in Plant have to be posted to the GL Accounts in chart of accounts assigned to the Company Code/Business Area.

Dear Sudarshan,

Make sure that Head Quarters is Business Area as well as Company Code and Plant is part and parcel of Head Quarters' Business Area before doing any transaction in proposed Plant.

With best wishes,
