Dear PM experts,
Good day..
My client wants to reserve the materials once they have been assigned in a maintenance order with item category L and no body can make goods issue for the quantity committed in this maintenance order upon another maintenance order.
The system action is that the component added in the maintenance order has the status "Reserved for order" and take a reservation no., but what happened actually, it that any other maintenance order can also reserve this quantity and makes goods issue for them.
So, is there a way to make the committed quantity in any maintenance order particular for this maintenance order only not to any other one??
Thanks for your help.

Greetings Pavan,
Normally the material will be commited after a successful material availaiblity check, and any subsequent Order that has a material availabilty check should fail it, if you do not have a sufficient unrestricted use quantity for the material. However, this does not prevent the goods issue of the restricted quantity to be done for that other work order by the warehouse managers.
This is in part to allow a measure of flexibility for the warehouse managers to be able to issue restricted stock in an emergency - e.g. if a high-priority corrective work order requires a material set aside for a scheduled preventive work order.
You could look into some more verbose solutions. One option is to move stocks commited for Work Orders into Project stock, in which case one or more Work Orders could share a pool of commited materials per WBS. Another option is to segregate storage locations in a Plant.
