Group Reporting: Accounting Consolidation Method (Direct Shares or Group Shares)

Hi experts,

Implementing GR for a complex structure group. In our case we have groups and subgroups. For example Consolidation unit A owns Conso. unit B which owns Conso. unit C. In our use case we used for all the relationships Purchase and Equity method with Direct Shares, but can someone help on the difference between the Direct Shares and the Group Shares and when we use each one?

Much appreciated,

Lefteris

Hi lefteris_p,

I'm also implementing group reporting with a complex structure. We have 22 Consolidation Units with 9 Consolidation Groups. I just upload direct share ownership using a flat file. In Manage Consolidation Group Structure, I'm using 10 (Purchase Meth. (Direct Shares)) or 20 (Equity Method (Direct Shares)).

In Consolidation Monitor, when you run Consolidation of Investment, SAP will calculate group share.

Hi William,

Thank you for your comment.
