Future of Maintenance Cost Budgeting Application with SAP focus on BPC

We are a chemical process industry and considering implementing Maintenance Cost Budgeting (MCB) application.

However MCB requires BW-BPS component which has been replaced by BI-IP and now our consultant are recommending using BPC.

How well does BPC covers MCB functions and what are the pros and cons of either approach.
