Functional location category- EAM S/4HANA Cloud Public

Hi All,

In cloud public, for fucntional location creation there is 2 category as below:

• M - Technical system - Standard
• S - Cusotmer Location

What's the meaning of "Technical system"? As I read everywhere FL is a place which equipment installed there.

And how I can change it or create a new one?

Also, in demo system, SAP defines maintenance plant as "M - Technical System" Category.

Hi,

The functional location category M-Technical System - Standard is used to represent the technical systems in your company. The S-Customer Location category is used to represent customer-specific locations.

You can change or rename it with the following configuration path:

SPRO > Plant Maintenance and Customer Service > Master Data in Plant Maintenance and Customer Service > Technical Objects > Functional Locations > Define Category of Functional Location
