For Central Finance, can my source ERP have a different fiscal year than S4?

Hi All,

This questions is for those of you who have implement Central Finance as a stepping stone to S4.

I have a scenario where our source SAP ECC system which will feed into Central Finance has a fiscal year that need to be fixed to line up to the Corporate fiscal year.  In general, ECC is 1 day off each month end from the Corporate calendar.

Is it possible to load this ECC data into Central Finance and have S4 Finance on the corrected Corporate fiscal year?  

While correcting the ECC calendar might seem like the easier approach, there are a ton of dependencies to consider including open amortizing Rev Rec scheduled(maybe a million or more sales documents) that would require updating, thousands upon thousands of scheduled jobs and dependent variants that would need updating, and lastly the big reason why the ECC calendar was changed originally, the month end settlement jobs take upwards of 18hours to complete, moving them a day would mean a 1 day delay in the overall month end close.

Consultants are telling me we should just keep the existing ECC fiscal year and use that in S4 for these Company Codes.  That does not seem right, this is our change in S4 to correct this process and carrying over a bad business process just seems wrong for a solution that is designed specifically to integrate/replicate data from multiple ERP's in a single S4 instance, new and improved, not carry over all the bad stuff from legacy systems.

Hi Nathan C, you should be able to post the data from source to CFIN system. Posting date derives the fiscal year and period. While mapping for the source to target for period and year make it blank.
