Fixed interim storage

Hi,

is it true that in WM to use dynamic interim storage (POs) it is not necessary to execute trx LX20 and if I want to use fixed interim storage I need to create storage bins?

I'm asking this 'cause system in LX20 shows the following:

The following storage bins have not been created yet:

WWhse Stor.typ Stor.bin

Z03 901 WE-ZONE

Z03 902 WE-ZONE

Z03 910 WA-ZONE

Z03 917 QUALITY

Z03 920 TRANSFER

Z03 921 TRANSFER

Z03 922 TR-ZONE

Z03 922 U-ZONE

Z03 923 PACK.BIN

Z03 980 DUMMY

Z03 998 AUFNAHME

Z03 999 LOST&FOUND

Z03 999 SCHROTT

........these seems are fixed interim storage bins

Best regards

If you really would have only dynamic bins, then you would not need to execute LX20.

The bins you see are fixed bins, thats right (and they have the wonderful German names)

SAP can create a quant with a dynamic bin number if the quant is created from a goods receipt to a PO. But what dynamic bin should SAP create if you do a GR without PO reference?

In this case you need the fixed bins.

You should rename them, in the IMG for define WM movement types, that they become more understandable for the warehouse folks (except you are working in Germany)

Hi,

I agree with you in fact when posting with MIGO, mvt type 501, if fixed storage bin (902 WE-ZONE) are not created, the system will generate the following message error:

Storage bin Z03 902 WE-ZONE does not exist (check your entry)
