Hi:

Documentation extract taken from SAP system, Copyright (c) SAP AG

The ENTRY feature (rule for determining the entry date) is used to determine which of the following infotypes is evaluated:

P0000 - Actions

P0001 - Organizational Assignment

P0016 - Contract Elements (initial entry date or entry into company)

P0041 - Date Specifications (particular date types)

The entry date is then determined in accordance with the following list of rules in order of priority:

If the DATYP date type has been specified in the ENTRY feature, and if infotype 0041 Date Specifications contains a record of this date type, the entry date is determined and the function module is exited.

If the EINDT indicator in the ENTRY feature determines that the initial entry date field must be read in infotype 0016 Contract Elements, or if the KONDT indicator has been set for the entry into company field, the lower of these dates (if available) is interpreted as the entry date and the function module is exited.

Otherwise, data is taken into account from infotype 0000 Actions and possibly infotype 0001 Organizational Assignment in accordance with the settings in the ENTRY feature, and the lower date is interpreted as the entry date. This data is compiled in accordance with the following rule:

Irrespective of the ENTRY feature, the start date of the first record of infotype 0000 Actions with employment status 3 (active) is taken into account.

If the RENTE indicator has been set in the ENTRY feature, the start dates of the records of infotype 0000 Actions with employment status 2 (retired) are also taken into account.

If the REENT indicator has been set in the ENTRY feature, employees who re-enter the company are taken into account in infotype 0000 Actions. All previous entry dates are ignored.

If the JUPER indicator has been set in the ENTRY feature, changes of legal person are also taken into account in infotype 0001 Organizational Assignment.

Furthermore, all of the entry dates taken into account in accordance with the rules listed above are written back to the ENTRY_DATES table parameter, including entry dates prior to the dates on which employees re-enter the company.

A user exit enables the ENTRY_DATES table parameter to be evaluated in accordance with specific customer requirements, and an individual CUSTOMER_ENTRYDATE entry date to be defined. The user exit also contains infotype tables P0000, P0001, P0016, and P0041.

This mean, what entry date should SAP take into account as entry date according to the following parameters:

P0000 - Actions - enter system

P0001 - Organizational Assignment - BUKRS change

P0016 - Contract Elements (initial entry date or entry into company) - Contract change

P0041 - Date Specifications (particular date types) - Date specification.

You can use function HR_ENTRY_DATE to evaluate ENTRY feature and determine entry date for evaluated PERNR. Same aplly to leaving date using HR_LEAVE_DATE.

I think this is pretty straight forward, right? What is not clear enough for you?

Hope it helps anyway.

Regards.

Hi,

This Feature(ENTRY) referring employee entry date in the orgainzation and what we inputed in 0041, 0016,0019.

Ex: to avail the leaves quotas based on experience in the company... this type of business requirement.. we can use the above feature. and some reports purpose also we can use above program. statistical reports like ee entry delegates date, and project implemented date, ee exactly joined in the organization like before implementing sap in the ogranization.

Those type of business requirements.. we can use the ENTRY feature.
