Export a report into CSV

Hi all,

I'm not very R3 literate and I was wondering what would be the easiest way to just dump an R3 report into a textfile.

I know that most of the time there is the "local file/F9" button with which you can export the screen output (unconverted, spreadsheet, rich text, html, clipboard). But the output looks just awful (line wrapping etc) and cannot be used for any further processing.

So I'm looking for an easy way to

- create a text file

- based on a standard report (asset history sheet in our case)

- ideally CSV format

- ideally automated: with variants and schedule

Thanks for your ideas in advance!

Hi Geriit

As u need the report in the specified format, do like this execute the report that u need after it is displayed just type (%pc) in the command box, so that it will ask the type of format i.e doc, txt, xls etc.,

Hi Bhaskar,

that seems to have the same effect as pressing the F9 key.

You can choose the output format but you don't get the data in any usable format (the lines are wrapped).

What I need is:

A, B, C, D

123, 123, 123, 123

456, 456, 456, 456

Or:

A[TAB]B[TAB]C[TAB]D

123[TAB]123[TAB]123[TAB]123

456[TAB]456[TAB]456[TAB]456
