Explosion of BOM via MRP Run

Former Member

Hello

I have the following BOM setup.

Material A

I

Material B

I

Material C

Is there a setting which I can activate that will allow MRP to pick up requirments placed on Material B then explode the BOM of Material B and place independant requirements on Material C but not generate any planned orders for Material B? I've tried MRP type X0 but this requires the use of APO which we're not using and subsequently doesn't work for this scenario.

Hi Alex,

1. Change your MRP Type to PD.

2. In MRP 2 view set Special Procurement 50 or assing in BOM - Basic data for items enter 50 for phantom assembly.

3. Run MRP.

4. Planned orders are generated for Material B but exploded for its components.

1. Change your MRP Type to PD.

2. In Material master record MRP 2 view set Special Procurement as 50 or assign in BOM for material B- Basic data for items enter 50 for phantom assembly.

3. Run MRP.

Dear Alex

Did you try with Phantom Assembly functionality ? MRP will not work in this case .MRP Type X0 in R/3 tells the system that this material is planned externally .BOM explosion is not possible here .

Lets check like this

1) Create B as phantom item with procurement Tye E and a special procurement key of 50 (Phantm Assmbly will be activated here in the SPK-50)

2) Create BOM for B which contains C

3.In BOM of B please remove the phantome assy Off indicator. Once you maintained the special procurement key 50 in material master, the phantom indicator will be acutomatically set in the high level bom.

4) Make sure that MRP4 view -BOM Explosion by Qty in place

Now create demand in for B and run MRP-MD02 -NECTH ,2,1,3,3,2 and check the result .

Regards

JH
