Hi Friends,
Please explain about the various excise duties like BED, AED. When these are applicable?

Hi,
Here are the rates:
BED- 12.5% and 14% depending on the types of goods
CVD - Counter Vailing duty - 16% (on assesable value + Basic Duty)
ECCVD - Education cess on CVD - 2% (on CVD)
CEC - Custom Education Cess - 2% ( on Basic Duty + CVD + ECCVD)
ACD - Additional Custom Duty - 4% ( on BD+ CVD+ ECCVD + CEC)

Excise Duties are Indirect taxes applicable on manufacture of Goods.
BED - Basic Excise Duty - Applicable on base price of the material
ECS - Education Cess - Applicable on BED
SECess - Secondary Higher Education Cess - Applicable on BED
AED - Additional Excise duty - Applicable on base priceEx dutiescustoms duties.( usually imports)
CVD - counter Availaing duties. Applicable in case of Imorts
