Error: Release code for Release group is inconsistent

Former Member

Hi all,

I wanted to create a new release strategy. I deleted the existing release groups and checked the release strategies, where it showed the existing release strategies. So, i created all the release groups(02,04,PI,Z1 &ZG) at a time by clicking new entries in a single go and saved it. No when i go back to release codes i dont see any corresponding release codes for the above mentioned release groups.

I checked the release strategies and it shows an error:

"Release code for Release group is inconsistent".

The error message doesn't give any name or number of the existing release group. Had i known the release group, i can recreate the release group and can delete the release strategies, release code and finally the release group. Please let me know what to do.

Thanks

Pavan

Hi,

Removing release strategy should be done very carefully. Please check that the release strategy deleted in customizing (OMGQ) is

also removed in CL24(N).

Also, deletion has always to be carried out in following sequence:

1. Delete the release strategies

2. Delete the release indicators

3. Delete the release codes

4. Delete the release group

5. Delete the class (Transaction CL02), if a new one was created for the new release strategy.

Also, you may refer to NOTE 365604 - Question 5 which describes in detail about the same process. .

Hope it helps.

By performing the transaction CL24N, i see for the class FRG_EKKO (PO release strategy) and for class type 032, there are release strategies 02 and 04. I tried to select the rows and delete them, but unfortunately it gives me an error

"Object Not Found".

Please guide me the process.

When i checked the release strategies i see the following error.

Error: No release group exists

Message no. ME_RELCHK014

I deleted release groups directly, i realized that i messed up during the deletion process. Please guide me how to rectify the error and i need to see green lights when i check the release strategies. I dont know what is the class and release group which i deleted. Is there any way that i can delete all the existing release strategies and set everything back in such a way that i can create a new release group and strategy.

Thanks

Pavan

Hi, you have to recreate all the things again as it was before, once done then try deleting in reversal way, starting from release strategy, then release code then release group.

Hi, You can find from the 'Check Release Strategies' execution in Release procedure setup in SPRO, Basic Checks, all the Strategies showing in red light need to be recreated & re-deleted.

No error message in Basic Checks and everything is in green. But, i see an error in the very next line

"Checks re release group and release class"

No Release group exists.

If i know the release group i can do the rest of the reversal process.

There can you see 'Release strategy XX for release group XX is inconsistent', that is the strategies i think you deleted maintain that & process as per above posts.

Hi,

Try to find the deleted release group from the config changes log (open the configuration parth then go to Utilities-Changes log) or if deleted release group even been used in transaction, then check in transaction table (like: EKKO).

hi

you would have deleted the release code and then release group.

you directly deleted the release group that is why the system is giving the error.
