We are scheduling the goods issue of deliveries in the background using the APP 'schedule goods issues for deliveries'
The job is failing with this entry in the log.  "Posting only possible in periods xxxx and xxxx in company code xxxx" ( M7053 )
The delivery dates are in an open period why are we getting this error ?

In the header of a delivery there are 2 goods issue dates visible. The Planned Goods Issue date (Planned GI) and the

Actual Goods Issue (Actual GI Date) . If the 'Actual GI Date' is not manually filled by the user then the system will take the current system date as the 'Actual GI Date' for the Inventory Management. If the current date is not in an open period

then the system will correctly raise error M7053.

This could most likely occur when documents are created, picked and posted over a period end. For example a delivery document is created and picked on January 31st and scheduled for goods issue on the 1st of February. When the job runs on 1st Feb the system will set that posting date. If the period is not open the error will be raised.

So users should know if they do not want the system to set the Actual Goods Issue automatically, they should set the date to January 31st when executing the picking to avoid these type of conflicts.

Hi,

When the item is at MIGO, an error like the one above will appear saying that MIGO can be processed in the period 2021/12 and 2021/11 because that period is active. while now the year 2022/01.

Solution: open period in 2022/01 so that items can be MIGO. The method:

- T-code: mmpv

- On “Close Period for Article Master Records”

From company code → fill in the company code in the PO

(header folder > org. data > company code)

To company code → fill in the company code in the PO

Period → the month you want to open the period (ex: 01)

Fiscal Year → the year you want to open the period (ex: 2022)

- Press the "execute" / F8 . button

After the period is changed, check the open period t-code: mmrv > fill in the company code in the PO > enter.

Hope it helps~
