Equipment LSMW (IBIP-0400) is too slow in Quality

Hello Experts,

I am using LSMW to create equipments,

Object               0400   Equipment

Method               0001   Create BI

Program Name         IBIP

Program Type         B   Batch Input

Number range is internal.

But the problem is in Development processing is too fast and in quality system, it is too slow.

I checked with basis team , they said, in quality system, resources are 4 times more than in development.

so from that side no issue.

I tried to trace the equipment creation using ST05. I just tried with 10 records.

In development it took 3 sec and in quality 17 secs.

i found one difference in trace. In the quality system, the table NRIV is being hit and it is taking maximum time

but in development it was not hit. I am confused.

PFB the screen shot from Quality trace.

If anyone has faced such issue please help.

Regards:

Ashish T.

This is a standard report, and not actually related to Abap development.

Hint: Ask your basis to check difference between development and quality, like buffering.

HI Raymond,

Thanks for your reply.

If i use 'External Number range' for equipment creation then this NRIV table will be hit?

I mean if you can give just an idea. because this is the table which is taking most of the run time.

If you use external number range, then your program must provide dthe number, NRIV won't be a problem but this is the functional responsibilty to switch from internal to external number range.

Did Basis check buffering?

Did you read consulting note 439929 - Technical object: Performance when creating via BAPI/IBIP looking for BAPI solution?

Hi Raymond,

Thanks again.

Yes Equipment master setting 'NO buffering allowed' is there, so basis is checking the impact if buffereing is switched on. Thanks a lot for this SAP note. I will get back to you soon after discussing to my Lead.
