Hi experts,
I'm working with positive time recording where auto-approval is enabled by default. I want to modify this so that if an employee does not work overtime hours, their timesheet is automatically submitted. However, if overtime hours are recorded, the timesheet should require manager approval. I’ve identified a basic business rule that seems relevant, but I’m looking for advice on whether there are other methods or solutions available to address this issue. Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
Hello Kahlid
your question was "but I’m looking for advice on whether there are other methods or solutions available to address this issue. "
And my answer was: that´s the way to go.
So, use this rule, detail it out and then you can sent an approval only when the system calculated overtime. Or if you have dedicated overtime time types than you can send them directly into approval with the single record approval. However, if you use for example only a working time time type and the system calculates the overtime portions, then you need to query the time valuation results in your rule to decide if a workflow should be send or not. Did you read the implementation guide? Not quite sure, but I think there is an example in it.
